Playwright: Peter Parnel Director: Jim Petosa Produced: Boston University
This play gives insight into the famous English naturalist: Charles Darwin. We see the struggles that Darin had with publishing his theory of evolution Origin of Species. He had immense obstacles to overcome: his daughter dying at a young ago, a struggle with his personal belief with God and his scientific mind conflicting with his religion. But most of all, the odd parallel between his theory of natural selection through competition and a younger scientist who, unbeknownst to him, campe up with the same theory twenty years after Darwin (prior to publishing). This became a colossal amount of pressure for Darwin to publish Origin of Species.
